Calendly's C-Suite continues to grow! Today, we're sharing two exciting announcements: Kate Ahlering has joined us as Chief Revenue Officer, and Patrick Moran, who has been serving as CRO, is transitioning to Chief Marketing Officer.
Kate is the fourth addition to Calendly’s C-suite in 2021, following the appointment of Frank Russo as Chief Information Security Officer in October, Tina Dobie as Chief Customer Officer in September, and Annie Pearl as Chief Product Officer in February.
Kate has a track record of building and scaling successful sales teams. Most recently, she was Chief Sales Officer at Glassdoor, where she led global sales, customer success, and revenue operations. She helped grow the company from less than $10 million in revenue to several hundred million and through a $1.2 billion acquisition. At Calendly, she will lead the sales, sales enablement, revenue operations, and partnerships functions. She will focus on accelerating Calendly’s momentum in the enterprise to help large organizations realize the value of scheduling automation, while overseeing sales to expand the company's international reach.
“The global addressable market for scheduling is $20 billion; there’s significant opportunity at our fingertips,” said Kate. “I’m inspired and excited to dive in to build on our vision and scale the business alongside Tope, Patrick, and the rest of the leadership team to better serve our diverse set of customers.”
"There’s no better time to welcome Kate, who has a strong track record of leading successful sales teams," said Calendly founder and CEO Tope Awotona. "Her experience working with a mix of product-led growth companies and the enterprise is the perfect blend to help Calendly reach new heights.”
With Kate’s coming onboard as CRO, Patrick will become the company’s first CMO to oversee all aspects of marketing including brand awareness, demand generation, and product marketing to support Calendly’s more than $100 million annual recurring revenue business. Patrick has more than two decades of experience working in the SaaS and product-led growth industries. He once served as the Chief Customer Officer of Salesforce-acquired Quip, in addition to leading as CMO at New Relic from inception to IPO.
“Patrick’s transition to CMO is a natural move based on his dual-role this past year building world-class sales and marketing teams, and we can’t thank him enough,” said Tope.
These appointments come at an opportune moment, as Calendly for Enterprise has rapidly become the fastest-growing part of the business, and the hybrid-remote workplace is driving ever-increasing adoption of productivity tools. With the addition and continued expertise of leaders like Kate and Patrick, we're setting ourselves up to meet those growing needs while building a new software category with scheduling automation.
